sprucing it up

Hello hello!

Well I DID finally hang those curtains! I really love them. We also got some new shelves for the living room and dining room chairs. We had Gabe's birthday and for his present we made our basement room a playroom, a few coats of paint and some furniture rearrangement and it wasn't so depressing.It became complete with super cute farm animal wall stickers. I'll take pictures soon, I'm warning you though...there are no windows down there so the lighting will be pretty crappy. 

We also managed to paint Gabe's bedroom and put new curtains and give him a new big boy twin bed. Complete with Thomas the Tank Engine sheets of course. I never thought I would give him stuff like that but well, we all compromise somewhere right? Pictures to come soon of course.

So you can see I have been feeling better and making the house feel home-y has been a HUGE priority.I have to say this is the first place we have ever had that didn't feel like home right away. Now I have to carve a space out for me to paint and sew in. I am craving the need to paint SO SO bad! 

Spring feels like it's finally here. On our walks around the neighborhood we can see snowdrops and crocus showing their faces. I LOVE it! I only wish our yard was as pretty, unfortunately it was cared after by to black-thumb bachelors. So of course we have no flowers and no grass of any kind! Not even in the front yard. I'm going to see if I can bribe them to at east seed the yard, sheesh!

Oh oh and I almost forgot, for David's birthday (this Sunday) I got him some finches! We are so excited to have them again. We had doves for awhile but it just wasn't the same. I missed their cheery chirps!
