I love you so. You stir creativity in me like no other season can.
Love, Steph
Wow, I can't believe how fast September went. Hello October. Damn, it all just seems to be going by so fast these days. We have been such a busy family and are enjoying ourselves immensely. We were lucky to be able to escape last weekend to Maine for the annual Fryeburg fair/pumpkin picking/apple picking/stuff your face with fair food /lay by the wood stove reading weekend. It was awesome. I'm now trying to focus on making some new work for an upcoming show at a local gallery here in RI. Very excited! Here's a look at my first one:
I recently have had my nose shoved in these two books " Homeschooling Our Children, Unschooling Ourselves" and "Calm and Compassionate Children : A Handbook" and am feeling quite inspired by them. I put them in my side bar of recommended reading if your interested too! I also found out about an amazing charter school that might be opening next year that I'm interested in hearing more about. Gabe is only 2.5 but you can never start looking at all your options too early and I'm having so much fun reading all this eye opening info. Oh and yeah...Mothering is a fantastic magazine. Where the heck have I been?!
One of those fun projects I was eluding to a few weeks ago...
My contribution to the collaborative coloring book caller "Peer" curated and developed by the lovely and SUPER talented Renee Garner. Seriously the list of artists who are in this is AMAZING( so thrilled to be in this with all of them)

I'm stopping in to say hello before I make my way up to the Enormous Tiny Art show at Nahcotta tonight. I am SO excited to see everyone there and take in the amazing artwork. The show runs from September 4th - 29th and the opening reception is tonight (Sept 5th) from 5-8pm. Stop on by if you can, I would love to chat! If you can't come you can still buy my work from the show on their great new website. I also plan on offering prints of select work from the show on Etsy later this month. I have a few new projects in the works and I can't wait to tell you all about them (thought it will have to wait a bit longer).
Hmmm. So sorry I just left you all hanging for a bit. We escaped small city life for a bit and retreated to Maine for 5 days. We got back last night and to be truthful I wasn't ready to come home. Good thing we are going back in two weeks! We spent our time grilling delicious food, spending all day by the lake and the Saco river. There was kayaking and peach-strawberry crisp. It smells SO good up there, pine trees and cinnamon fern. I really enjoyed listening to the song birds, the chipmunks rustling in the leaves and the sound of the screen door opening and shutting. Sometimes I dream of living in Maine but then remember just how loooong winter is up there. Not sure if I have what it takes to make it through. Thanks to Amanda's list we have big plans on attending the bluegrass festival and the common ground country fair this fall.
I have been meaning to show off my new bauble (p.s. I'm wearing it in the pic!)...I'm in love and so happy I snatched one up! Thank you Kristen and Mati. Oh and don't forget to vote for mati!!
OH yes and one more thing, an interview I did is now up on Kidoinfo, a local site geared towards parents in and around Providence, feel free to take a gander and welcome all who have popped on over from the site. Come, sit, say hello!
My friend Johanna from JustJohanna's Odd Bird Planet just e-mailed me and let me know her stamp company has joined up with the amazing Lime Tart in AU to offer there scrapbook kits here in the US! Here are a few sneak peaks!
July's A La Tarte kit is featuring some of my papers from the Wonder Years Line. SO to get on with the good stuff (as if that's not enough)...you can enter to win an original painting from me that features some of Johanna's stamps. So get on over and check out the details for yourself....http://lilybeanpaperie.typepad.com/lilybeans_paperie/2008/06/come-here-you.html
